2014 BYU Football Media Day Schedule
- Updated: June 23, 2014
One of the most unique things I’ve come to love about BYU’s football independence is media day. It’s actually pretty fun to be a fan of a team that puts on its own day full of programming for its very own media day. June 23 marks the first media day in college football for the 2014 season.
It’s BYU’s day, and here is the schedule of events and programs:
LIVE TV PROGRAMS
The meat of media day is the live programming, specifically the State of the Program.
STATE OF THE PROGRAM
9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
BYUtv / BYUtvsports.com / ESPN3.com / WatchESPN / BYU Radio (SiriusXM 143)
Rebroadcast at 6 p.m. on BYUtv
State of the Program staples Tom Holmoe and Bronco Mendenhall will be joined by coordinators Robert Anae and Nick Howell, as well as ESPN analyst and BYU alum Trevor Matich.
The SOTP drinking game bingo could include Top 25 finishes, winning percentage, “national championship,” and consecutive bowl appearances. Typically, big announcements have not occurred at media day, but last year BYU announced a Mendenhall contract extension, a series with USC, and a 2015 bowl contract.
BYU SPORTS NATION
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
BYUtv / BYUtvsports.com / BYU Radio (SiriusXM 143)
Rebroadcast at 7 p.m. on BYUtv
The daily BYU sports simulcast radio show takes a media day spin as hosts Jarom Jordan and Spencer Linton will welcome Bronco Mendenhall, Taysom Hill, Jamaal Williams, and others into the studio.
BYU FOOTBALL: GREAT MOMENTS THEN & NOW
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
BYUtv / BYUtvsports.com / ESPN3.com / WatchESPN / BYU Radio (SiriusXM 143)
Rebroadcast at 9 p.m. on BYUtv
Nobody is better at reminiscing than BYU, and greats from several eras of BYU football will be in studio to do just that: Leon White, Dennis Pitta, James Dye, and Taysom Hill.
