Podcast 118: Jarom Jordan and the Season Preview Spectacular
- Updated: August 22, 2013
Jarom Jordan, a producer for BYUtv and play-by-play man for men’s volleyball, comes on the podcast for the first time to tell us about the awesome stuff they’re doing at BYUtv Sports, including whether we’ll see more shows like the #BYUtop50. He also shares his thoughts on the potential of the offense.
Adam and Matt then preview the season, making the tough calls on over/unders for the stat lines of Taysom Hill, Cody Hoffman, Jamaal Williams, and Kyle Van Noy. And they go down the schedule and make predictions on the season, all while deftly answering your #Tweetbag questions.

Just listened to the podcast (as always). This time while doing the dishes.
A few things. Bronco’s D destroyed Georgia Tech’s option last year. I remember reading that NFL teams came asking Bronco what they did to stop it, so I don’t worry much about this game. I see the ND game as the most winnable of the “big” games because they clearly aren’t better then they were the year before. I also like our chances against Boise State because it is a home game.
One suggestion for the podcast, with the creation of loyalcougars.com, there are a ton of great contributors at this site. I would say the collective BYU intelligentsia is found at LC. Perhaps increase the podcast to three segments: 1) An outside interview, usually a beat writer of BYU or an opponent. 2) An LC interview with one of the great contributors to the site. Could be to highlight a piece someone did. 3) then the Mangum duet or duel of wits, depending on how you see it.
Just a suggestion from a Loyal Cougar… I mean loyal listener.

Thanks for suggestions! And Boise could end up being the best team we play this year. I think that game is going to be really tough, even at home.

Glad to see the audio shows up in your RSS feed. Is there an RSS feed for just the Rise and Shout Podcast? The RSS I used (https://www.loyalcougars.com/feed/rss/) appears to be the whole side.

Brad, thanks for the comment. There is a feed for the podcast, it’s https://www.loyalcougars.com/category/byu-podcast-rise-shout/feed/. I’ll see if we can get that link included on all podcast posts.
